Light Head !

  Back from a small Summer pause. Battery recharged.
When I did Air Head, I got the feeling that it was a good enough idea
to do more "heads".

  De volta depois de uma pequena pausa de Verão. Bateria recarregada.
Quando fiz a Cabeça de Vento, tive a sensação de que era uma ideia suficiente boa desenvolver mais "cabeças".

  So this time, inspired in my city´s symbol, the Saint Catherine´s lighthouse and fort, I created this stretched illustration. All made in watercolour, with 70 cm high and 30 cm long. 

So now it´s finished and ready to frame, witch I will be doing soon ^^

  The ideia behind the illustration is that we all are a beacon for someone in this life, whether it be for a special friend, family or even as someone that others look up to when in need of a friendly advice or any kind of help. We all have the potencial to be lighthouses by our own terms, it´s up to us choosing to keep the light lid for others or to turn off the light within. One thing's for sure, when we light up our beacon, we became better beings and we really can make a difference in this world...even if a small one, the mist may clear a little ^^. 

So be a lighthouse all the time!!

  Então, desta vez, inspirado no símbolo da minha cidade, o forte e farol de Santa Catarina, criei esta ilustração esticadinha. Tudo feito em aquarela, com 70 cm de altura e 30 cm de comprimento. Terminado e pronto para moldar, coisa que irei fazer em breve ^^

  A ideia por trás da ilustração é que todos nós somos como um farol para alguém nesta vida, seja para um amigo especial, família ou até mesmo ao representar alguém que os outros procuram quando precisam de um conselho de amigo ou para qualquer outro tipo de ajuda súbita. Todos nós temos o potencial para ser faróis pelos nossos próprios termos, apenas temos de escolher entre manter a luz acesa para os outros ou optar por desligar a luz interior. Uma coisa é certa, quando acendemos o nosso farol, tornamos-nos seres melhores e podemos realmente fazer a diferença neste mundo ... mesmo que pequena, a neblina pode ir desaparecendo aos poucos ^^. Então, sê sempre um farol!

August inspirations

  Estamos em Agosto, e como tal, neste mês tudo abranda...até a nossa inspiração. Talvez por causa das distracções serem tantas à nossa volta. Praia, bom tempo, família, amigos e namorado em férias. É complicado encontrar tempo para me sentar frente a uma mesa e desenhar como se não houvesse amanhã. No entanto, não tenho estado parada, continuo a procurar novas inspirações, a planear novas composições e a fermentar ideias. Aqui vos deixo com algumas das minhas últimas ilustrações, algumas ainda em modo rascunho, outras já em line art e outras até com já alguns toques de cor. Antes do final deste mês não voltarei a fazer updates de trabalhos, por isso...Boas Férias!

  We are in August, and as such, this month everything slows up our inspiration... Perhaps because of the many distractions around us. Beach, good weather, family, friends and boyfriend on vacation. It's hard to find time to sit in front of a table and draw like there's no tomorrow. However, I have not been stopped, I continue to look for new inspirations, new compositions and fermenting ideas. Here I leave you with some of my latest illustrations, some still in draft mode, others already in line art and others already with some touches of color. Before the end of this month I will not be returning to do project updates, so ... Happy Holidays!

The Guide

 A guia - Todos os barcos e barquinhos que saem pela barra, enfrentam mar aberto e revolto adiante. Barcos e barquinhos que furam o nevoeiro matinal e a maresia, ao escondido da noite ou ao alvorecer, temem a revolta do mar e a fúria das suas ondas. Receio pela vida, pelos outros que não mais voltam a ver e pelo peixe que tem de ser pescado para alimentar aqueles que de si dependem.

 

 Todos os pescadores de barcos grandes e pequenos temem o mar, mas para o mar têm de partir, enfrentar o desconhecido para encher a rede e trazer a recompensa. O mar dá e tira. Assim reza o ditado. O farol e o pensamento chamam o pescador a casa, o farol ilumina o caminho e o pensamento é reservado para aquela que o espera, qual mulher forte e esperançosa pelo seu retorno. Também as mulheres merecem especial destaque nesta faina, pois eram elas, com os seus fios de amor invisível, seguravam os homem à terra e os reconfortavam depois da dura lida.

 The guide - All ships and little boats that leave by the estuary, face the open sea, churning forward. Ships and boats that pierce through the morning fog and salt air, concealed by the night or at dawn, fear the revolt of the sea and the fury of its waves. Fear for life, for others who do not return and the fish, that must be caught to feed those who depend on you.

 All fishing boats large and small fear the sea, but to the sea they must leave, facing the unknown to fill the net and bring the reward home. The sea gives and takes. So the saying goes. The lighthouse and the thought call to the fisherman's, the lighthouse lights the way and the thought is reserved for she who awaits for his return, what strong and hopeful woman. Womenfolk also deserve special mention in this toil, as they were the ones who with their invisible threads of love, held the man to the ground and comforted them after hard work.
